Extruded aluminum trim for both interior and exterior applications is superior to alternative materials because it can withstand greater daily abuse, is more sustainable, and provides life-safety options such as fire resistance. These are all important considerations in high traffic commercial and multifamily residential spaces. Beyond performance, extruded aluminum trim will enhance interior spaces and exterior facades by adding sophistication, depth, color, and drama in the form of artful shadow lines, clean transitions, panelized surfaces, and walls that appear to float. This course will explore applications for interior and exterior extruded aluminum trim, as well as how it can improve sustainability and occupant safety in commercial buildings. We will compare its sustainability and other performance benefits to alternative trim materials and seek to understand why it’s a more aesthetically pleasing, functional, and sustainable choice.
