Job Summary:
We are looking for an Outside Sales rep with strong experience in the market.
The Outside Sales Representatives are responsible for creating / maintaining customer relationships, and growing and promoting product sales while they maintain a professional image for Tamlyn. Team members aggressively promote and sell all Tamlyn product lines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enters new and existing customer data and other sales data into Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travels throughout the assigned area to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers by phone.
- Ensures quality customer service through personal interaction with contractors, builders, dealers and builder yards. Personally, handles distributor customer accounts as required and assigned.
- Uses in-depth knowledge of product application to assist customers in selecting products for their projects. Coordinates product knowledge training or demonstrations for customers as needed.
- Establishes, reviews, and reports market activity, market penetration, pricing, selling approaches and itineraries to management. Makes product recommendations for inclusion in product line.
- Ensures quotes are prepared and sent to customers in a timely manner.
- Manages and monitors set-up of new accounts, changes to accounts and involvement in collection. May be required to assist in the collection of delinquent or default accounts.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s and supplier’s production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with inside sales and Marketing to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Assists with developing monthly, quarterly and annual plans in conjunction with the Sales Director to meet goals for volume and profitability.
- Monitors and tracks product forecast levels to ensure customer’s needs are met. Communicates with the Sales Director when new orders are needed.
- Works with and through corporate, regional and Logistics management and employees to facilitate efficient delivery of product and service to commercial customers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, product quality or service.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills, with proven negotiation skills.
- Thorough understanding of company’s products and/or services, and those of immediate competitors in the surrounding market.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience using Customer Relationship Management software (CRM).
